The Art Of... Dolores“I visualize everything I see in nature as a potential painting”
Dolores Castrucci of Southold, New York studied traditional oil painting techniques at the Art Students League, the School of Visual Arts and more recently with the renowned landscape artist John Phillip Osborne at The Ridgewood Art Institute of New Jersey. Nature is her most consistent teacher, painting en plein aire her passion. Like the legendary 19th century artists who drew inspiration from the East End’s magical light, Ms. Castrucci’s landscapes capture the visual poetry of sea, earth and sky. Her latest works are “earth paintings.” She combines textures - sand, grass and seeds - into her compositions exploring these elements of nature as part of her own creative discoveries. Ms. Castrucci’s work have been included in individual collections and group shows throughout the Northeast. Her work has been shown in The Ridgewood Art Institute NJ, Guild Hall, Water Mill Museum, Bullet Space NYC, South Street Gallery and Southold Historic Society Reichert Gallery. Ms Castrucci is represented at Fiedler Gallery, Greenport, New York. |
